As I write this, I find myself in Birmingham, Alabama, awaiting the Tennessee game which will take place tomorrow. I should be pumped to be with the Vols and I am... but there is a big part of me that ever grows that wishes I was at the A&E game tonight with all of you. The community of KCHS has been more than welcoming and I was sitting here reflecting on what an enjoyable experience it's been to get to know some of you. My life has been changing a lot over the last few years. The gospel of Jesus Christ is more and more on my mind. I can remember a few years ago, that I could get through the better part of the day and never think about God. These days, I find myself thinking about Him all the time, especially when I'm in the school. I wonder sometimes if you guys have any idea what's at the center of the spirit of KCHS... I wonder if you realize it is Jesus himself. I'm extremely proud of we all dealt with our recent crisis that made the newspapers. We came together when it counted, and wept together. And then we began to help each other heal. It's so obvious Jesus is amongst us every day at Catholic. I thank God for the many relationships that have started between myself and the students, teachers, parents, administrators, and staff. I often feel like I'm the one being ministered to by all of you. Thank you for your patience with me, for my crazy schedule, and for the many quiet smiles, waves and "Dpats" I receive each day.
This BLOG seeks to serve the entire community of our high school but places special emphasis on our students. The spirit, vision and intent this BLOG is to provide an alternative place to connect, encounter, and participate in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ within our Catholic tradition. "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desire of your heart." Psalm 37:4
