This BLOG seeks to serve the entire community of our high school but places special emphasis on our students. The spirit, vision and intent this BLOG is to provide an alternative place to connect, encounter, and participate in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ within our Catholic tradition. "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desire of your heart." Psalm 37:4

"We're all about saving souls..."
In addressing the Class of 2011 and their families last Wednesday night in the Gym, Mr. Sompayrac spoke about the mission of Knoxville Catholic High School in no uncertain terms. He said, "we play a little sports here, and we offer great academics, but make no mistake about our mission: we're here to bring young people to salvation." My heart burst with appreciation and joy when I heard those words. As the Campus Minister here at KCHS, it's a huge part of my job to try to keep the priority of the school about the common hope we share in Jesus Christ. While I have a simple title, I can attest that the teachers at KCHS are also on board with that mission as well. I am a small cog in a big engine that has been pushing that hope in Jesus for almost 75 years.
